Default 3rd Party Canon Ixus Battery Question

Hi guys,

I'm a newbie here,, just wanna ask advise from expert here

I've searched about this question but apparently no gd answer can be found so i create this thread.

Firstly, I assume all ixus using the same battery type.

Have anyone bought battery for the ixus camera but not the original one ???

I've asked AP and a few shops at sls and they only have 2 capacity.

The first one dunno what's the brand, have word power on it, capacity 850 mAH, cost $35

The second one dunno what brand, capacity 1100 mAH, cost $50.

Anyone have tried using this battery ?? How's the performance compare to the original canon battery ?

Using canon ixus 300 now, just want to know expert opinion regarding this

Any advise on which battery to buy ?? and is this price cheap ??

Oh ya, one more thing, does the default battery charger can charge this non original battery ?

The default battery from my ixus 300 is 680 mAH only, need more capacity than that, so thinking to get the 1100 mAH 3rd party but badly need feedback here.

Thanx for replying

Ixus 330 uses NB-L1H, which has higher capacity than the standard NB-L1.

Most of the 3rd party batteries are the lower capacity type.

I've not been able to find 3rd party equivalent for NB-L1H.

In any case, I shoot without the LCD, so the normal capacity lasts me plenty long time.

what's the capacity for ur battery , may i know ?

In my case i've asked AP and the 3rd party have higher capacity then my original battery which is 680 mAH.

Just asking, higher capacity will always last longer than low capacity rite, like 1100 mAH confirm last longer than 680 mAH or 850 mAH..

Yes, 1100mAh will last longer than 680mAh.

I thought sometime ago someone mentioned a battery, brand A-Station, for the Ixus 300/330. It was 900+ mAh, IIRC. It was purchased from CP.

yeah, i saw the thread, but no feedback yet from the person using the battery.

Would prefer the 1100 mAH which is $50 but i dunno the canon charger able to charge or not .
