I can see the dilemma. But Sony didn't buy out Minolta they bought technology from them.

I think someone raise this issue before in DPReview before, some agree, some against though, due to the heritage of minolta lens and body. This forum wasn't change to Konica Minolta also when both merge.

BTW, the Koreans really took some good photos , some nice models also

Have to face the reality..
It will only be SONY from June onwards.. all new lens will be SONY and all new cameras will be SONY..
Got a feeling that Minolta forum will be removed.. as there is no more Minolta in the new equipment.. only the older lens and cameras..

Wonder if they will name it as Sony Minolta, Sony Alpha, Sony Minolta Alpha or just SONY...

I miss Minolta !

Beocos of Minolta, I felt in love with photography...

I hope Sony don't come out with DSLR with memory sticks...pls...

rename this forum under "minolta classic / nostalgia" and put it as a subforum under Sony. lol.

It will have CF card memory support.. even Sony own R1 is supporting CF card and memory stick now..

My first SLR was a Minolta Dynax 5. At the time I wanted to buy a Nikon F80. After using the Dynax 5 I never regreted using Minolta.
