Just bought a Canon IXUS V3 plus additional 128Mb CF with brandname IODATA. Even after formating the CF, I still get quite frequent corrupted images when viewing.
Anybody else experiencing this? Problem with the camera? Or the IODATA CF card? Appreciate comment. |

The image displays on the LCD when first shot. After a while, when you shoot more photos and replay the images, the screen is black and the message "Corrupted Data" or something like that appears.
I've re-format the CF once but it doesn't help. Why? Anybody else experiencing this? |

I've also experienced this on the v3. My 128mb alpha data card gives quite a lot of errors. I suspect its the card problem because my other cards gives much fewer errors.

Formatted the IODATA CF twice 2 more times. Took out and re-inserted the card twice as well. Did this because I took the time to read the manual again...
After that, went to Malacca for a 3 days 2 nights holiday. Took about 40 photos plus 3 AVI files. No problem with corrupted data!!! Interesting isn't it? V3 got IC problem? How to verify this? |

IC stands for Integrated Circuit.
Bad news! Corrupted image came back for me. Hence, formatting the CF card does not resolve the problem. I went to the forum at dpreview.com and found a number of people had similar problems as well but most on them on a brand called Crucial. IODATA was mentioned as well. Maybe need to go back to change my CF card. For the Ixus V3 owners out there with 128Mb CF, what brand are you using and any problem? |
