This is a animal shelter/boarding kennel where I am currently working. There are a few rescused dogs tehre that are up for adoption but i have not had the time to take thier photos. Here are some of the resident dogs and cats for your viewing.. I had fun making full use of my new 70-200... Borrowed a 300D to test..
One of the yorkies in the pack(of 4? ) that inhabit the boss' office. They bark at all strangers.... ![]() Rocky, one sweet rottie but can be a little defensive when with his owner... ![]() Yellow, the lazy lab that stays around the break room. He does have a playful and active side though. ![]() May, my favorite dog so far. Shes very old and has joint problems but still firendly as ever. She like one of the sweet old grandmothers... ![]() Cats next... Last edited by raptor84; 23rd May 2006 at 12:07 AM. |

I'm more of a dog person so I don't interact with the cats as much..here are just some of the many many cats..
Daisy, one of the kittens that need a new home.. I did use fill flash that was bounced and diffused from about 3 meters away so no harm done. ![]() The next few cat photos were all taken with the 70-200f/4 stopped down to f/5.6. A white cat with mesmersiing blue eyes. ![]() 2 'classic' styled portraits. ![]() ![]() Thanks for viewing. You can bookmark my set over at http://www.flickr.com/photos/nick_le...7594142141653/ for more updates when i have the time to shoot. Last edited by raptor84; 23rd May 2006 at 12:08 AM. |

Good dof. Nice lens. Very sharp also, must be hard keeping them still? I just love dogs. Look at may's innocent look. l0l.

Yellow the Lab looks like a dog with character.
The kitty is so cute and looks wonderful with the backlighting. |

The kitten quite young and was being held in the hand of another person. The eyes are supposed to be blue but i think the mix of ambient and slight flash mixed the colours. Thanks for commenting. |

Really nice pics. Love Yellow and Bandit.
But I have a question about using flash on animals. Does it do a lot of harm? I ask this because sometimes when i go to the zoo, I use flash. But usually on pets, I will never use it. |

).When the lighting is not enough the animal's pupil's will be large and if you flash you have a high chance of causing some harm to thier eyes. |
