Hey, I think this is a bit off topic, hope u all dont mind. Any R/C experts can tell me the answers?

1) How are the thrust from both engines synchonised? Manually or is there an automatic sychoniser?

2) Supposing one engine fails, is the R/C aircraft capable of flying on asymatric thrust? And have any R/C aircraft (both single and twins) suvived a complete engine failure?

Thanks ya... cheers

Not an expert but I may have the answer.

1. RPM on both engines are tuned to synchonise with each other. Tools used are a tachometer or your ears. The mechanical servo actuates the throttle lever on the engine. Either one servo with Y-connector or two independent servos with radio mixing can be used for the throttle lever.

2.Its not immpossible to land a plane with complete engine failure. If there is sufficient altitude and if the plane has good glide characteristics, the chances of survival is very high. Ofcourse, must take into consideration other factors like wind direction, your aircraft position and reaction time of pilot...etc

If you have interest in R/C, you are welcomed to join us at rc-ms.com We fly at Tampines and some in Punggol. Taking photos is allowed...

Yoz Bro, thanks for the answer and invites.

Anyway which part of Tampines and Punggol do you people fly at? Although I will say my main interest is on real aviation, but then I have seen R/C plane flying at bukit butok last time and I have to say they are pretty interesting too. I might drop by your flying site if I happen to pass by and have free time to spare.

Cheers,
Safe flying
