Question Canon G3 REAL price

I am planning to buy a Canon G3 in this coming week. I had a friend who had bought a Video Camera at a good price (S$300 lower than retail price), he got the good deal from his friend's friend shop. So I think maybe his friend can offer me a good price for the camera that I want.

Today his friend called and tell me the price of Canon G3, it is well below the retail price, its even lower than the lowest price in this thread

Since I am a newbie in this DC thing, is it possible that his friend offer me so low price? If thats true that means the margin must be quite big right? I am afraid I am being conned

Thanks for any suggestion

$1200 (+GST 3% $36) = $1236 at AP @ SLS

I got mine at $1250 4 days ago

Since you're newbie, you certainly need some help, and I don't think there's a possibility you can get a price that low (from the RP)

The price given to me is included GST, that is why I feel so strange.

I went to AP today, the person at the counter gave me opeing price as S$1399, whoah!!! That's the price at Best Denki, and Canon homepage. I thought their opening price should be lower. I have not bargain thou.

Usually how much can the price be lower from the opeing price? $200 to $300?

By the way, anyone know whats the difference between buying at Super Store like BestDenki compare with SLS shops? s it the SERVICE or the after sales?

If you buy at AP :

Canon G3 (approx with GST included $1250)

128MB CF Card ($85)

You pay only $1335 odd, saving about $60+

You need to bargain. They may quote even higher for others.

dun worry lah, u won't be able to feel much of a difference on a G3. The difference is more evident on DSLRs.

Hi Kindred, where did you get your Lensmate adaptor for G3 and how much? Is it better than the Canon one? Also 58mm thread size?
