Hi,
Which panorama SW you use for Minolta photos? I've been trying to create Panorama shots.. but always there is a different exposure btw the photos.. Any tips for Panorama shots or any good links in the Web? |

I use Arcsoft's Panorama Maker 3 (got it free from buying FZ5 last time), good software, I remember there are some free one on the internet also.
Just stitched this last night. ![]()

Its always a challenge to stitch 3 or more photos to form a single pano.
My suggestion is to start with 2 first. Get ur meter readings off a single point (foreground or background), switch to Manual mode and fix the aperture and shutter speed to one single exposure thru-out. DO NOT CHANGE APERTURE AND SHUTTER SPEED regardless what the meter tells u when u rotate the tripod. Shoot one, rotate taking note of the tilt as well as barrel distortion associated with wides and ultra-wides. After u turn the camera, compensate a little for the tilt and fire off one more. I usually use Photoshop CS2. No software can do magic if ur exposure the photos differently.

Shoot everything in Manual.
Manual exposure, manual white balance, manual focus and everything else is manual. Also make sure you give at least 30-50% overlap. Panorama Factory is very good too. Hart |

Looks fine to me..
In panorama situation, you either have to wait for the light to be consistent through out the scene or you are using average metering which is a compromise. What you can do is do 2 pano and then merge them to get the best of everything. Regards, Hart |

Can't agree more. Took this panaramic shot with my Panasonic FX-5, fully auto, total of 8 shots stitched together using the Arcsoft panorama maker 3. Joined them all at one go. ![]() Last edited by ldft; 25th May 2006 at 09:14 PM. |

I tried 10 shots before... came out perfect using Pano Factory except that I forgot and shot the pictures with ISO1600... so it was terribly grainy... the thing is that the stitching was perfect...
I tried again this time in Thailand but I forgot to fix the exposure... haven't tried stitching but the exposure was quite consistent due to the cloudy overcast sky... will post when I get it done.... first must fix my crashed Kingston card... ![]() |

Hi.. read the paper today and they recommended this free autostitch SW.. downloaded the SW and tested on my previous photos.. that I have difficulty to get a good stitch..
The results are amazing.... all Pano stitch photos turned out perfect.. http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html |
