Default Using dry cabinet in Australia

Just wondering, does one use a dry cabinet in Australia for his/her camera equipment?

    I don't.

But I presume you would need to if you live in the tropical northern part where it is humid.

    Ask a Queenslander?

I don't. The relative humidity here runs between 50-70% throughout the year mostly, and as long as you use your equipment every now and then there shouldn't be a cause to worry about fungus.

One thing you have to be careful is the condensation. If you come from a cold outdoor in winter into a heated indoor, remember to take out your camera and lenses from the camera bag.

If you leave them inside your bag for days and weeks, sure kena mould one. And always store your equipments in an airy and sunny place e.g a book shelf.

I'm in Perth, and tonight, after studying, I'm going to put my equipment into a plastic container - is there anything dangerous about this? how about if I put silca gel in there?
At the moment, it's just on my desk, and before that, it's living in my camera bag.
