Default hello from america's cup

hi guys charleslim here, I have been AWOLed from this forum for awhile, anyway with good reason. I got selected to sail for China in the America's Cup. So here I am in Valencia Spain racing on AC boats. I brought all my camera gear with me, but it's real difficult to get time to snap a few shots. Tried to fixed this problem by getting myslef a Olympus waterproof and 'shockproof' idiot camera. But guess what? I dropped it from less than 1.5m onto the carbon deck of the boat and now the LCD refuse to show anything. It still takes pictures, but it is impossible to take a decent shot without the lcd screen.
Anyway I am going to FEDEX it back and let me wife deal with it.

anyway I started a blog since specific to my adventures racing on america's cup. it's http://sotong.typepad.com/

please check it out and laugh

Good to hear from you Charles!

I received your Skype invite, but haven't gotten round to installing it

I presume you dont have much time with the SLR on deck?

Kind of lost in the technical mumbo jumbo of deck gear... hope you're having a great time! Do your best!

Tried to once, got the 1dsmark2 onboard, but I didn't get a chance to use it. Was too busy grinding and moving sails.

wow, this is cool

hope you have time to get some great photos, recently I had the chance to meet Ellen McArthur, and also go on board the B n Q although I don't sail it was quite a feeling being on board that boat.

cheers
