to all food technologists here, i have a question. are there instrumentations for determining sugar levels or/and salt levels in food. eg. much like dip stick for measuring blood sugar level with a portable unit. if yes, could i have their contacts.

i am not a health nut.

    thanks.

    Hi Friend!

For measuring sugar content in food (assuming that there is some liquid base) you will need a REFRACTOMETER which basically measures the density of sugar. They're a bit hard to get in Singapore from my experience as it is a highly specialised tool used by food technologists and pastry chefs.

As for salt levels, not too sure about that.

    Hope that helps.
