For those who have sent their Nikon 80-200 F2.8 for servicing, what is the cost to clean tiny dust specks that are trapped in the interior of the lenses?

Actually, it's the hassle of applying a half day off to visit the Nikon 'clinic'. I have been there once, rather long wait if you have pros arguing with the staff ![]() |

them to quote me the est charge for the cleaning and they will provide me after checking with the technician. And for your speck of dust, even you bring down, think the technician will also advise you no need to clean unless you insist. I had brought down a few lens before with dust and all brought back without any cleaning cos the technician say no need.. Last edited by donchua; 16th May 2006 at 02:28 PM. |

NSC will charge about $200. That's what I paid 2 years ago. Frankly, if the dust specks don't affect picture quality, just live with it. Dust will still get in sooner or later. Last edited by thomas_lkt; 16th May 2006 at 06:17 PM. |
