Default Lee #87 IR Gelatin Filter

Hi All IR Friends,

Just gotten my Lee #87 IR Gelatin Filter for my 10.5mm Fisheye lens to try out IR. Here are a few shots to share with all.

Just some thoughts for discussion about the Lee #87 IR Gelatin filter.

1. The permitted transmission begins at above 730nm which is to say that more visible lights/colours are block off hence only can do Black and White. (Hoya R72 transmission begins at above 720nm)[Please correct me if I am wrong on this]

2. Auto-Focusing is not possible when the filter is in place, I can only switch it to Manual Focusing and zoom to infinity for my shot. One way to overcome is to compose my shot first without the filter, try autofocusing and switch the focusing to manual. Then remove the lens to slip in the gelatin filter. Mount the lens back and shoot.
Another method will be to roughly gauge the location of distance scale then try to adjust to that position when mounting back the lens, but most of the time, the distance scale is around the infinity index.

Free feel to discuss and comment. Thanks.
