I am considering getting the nikon 18-70mm f3.5-4.5 kit lens. Is there any other good alternative to this lens around this price range? Thanks!

if u want a lens for both, the film lens equivalent is the 28-105. if for digital, so far IMO, nothing beats the 18-70 in terms of performance/price.

I also got some zoom lens questions to ask here? Anyone tested both their AF 'ED' (with distance 'D') & AF-S DX 'ED' lenses (if you have it) & is there any difference in terms of sharpness? I do find that the AF-S DX lenses tends to give sharper images on a DSLR than the older AF 'ED' (with distance 'D') version lenses. Care to share?
Can anyone enlighten me please? TIA ![]() Last edited by Spectrum; 14th May 2006 at 09:53 AM. |

I should think so too... Digital or film lens is fine. Can't find a more versatile event/holiday lens at the moment with its price/performance.
