    Tortoise

    Very free at home thus trying something different myself.


    Lens : Canon 180mm Marco len

    Background lights : EX 580 Flash in slave mode
    Front lights : Marco Twins flash (left off, right on) ration 0:8 in Master mode
    Additional lights : Torch lights at top

    Camera on Tripod with cable release

    whoa piang! shoot minitures also can make it look like well presented portraits.

    watch out for your lighting, they are creating alot of unnecessary and distracting reflections, and making the pictures quite flat. try working with 1 flash and 1 white card as a reflector for a start.

    Besides the lighting, the backdrop troubles me in terms of its texture, colour (pink) and the creases. And pink silicon gel. Hmmm. I am sorry to say that this combination of props is not pleasing to me.

    The backdrop material is felt-like, which makes me think warm/hot. And tortoises always make me think cool. So I can't help thinking the tortoises aren't comfortable there. I have an overactive imagination, please forgive. Hehe.

    IMO, #02 is the most successful, the only one which allowed the whimsy to show through without being let down by the lighting and colour.
