Thread: Question from a newbie who doesn't really know what he's doing

    Default Question from a newbie who doesn't really know what he's doing

    Currently, I'm using a old camera (Nikon F50D)
    it's been a white elephant for ages till I've finally managed to dig it up, and tried to use it...
    I was thinking of getting a lens capable of zooming to quite a distance. I've done some search on the lens which were compatible with my camera but later I've only found an article/review with the following len types.

    AF lenses
    AI-P;
    AF-IS;
    AI-type (AI, AI-S, AI converted) with the exception of the Fisheye 6mm f/5.6 and the Fisheye OP 10mm f/5.6, the 180-600mm f/8 (#174180 or less), the 200-600mm f/9.5 (#301922 or less), the 360-1200mm f/11 (#174127 or less);
    Nikon E lenses;
    Reflex lenses 500mm f/8, 1000mm f/11 (#143001 or larger), 2000mm f/11 (#200310 or larger);
    Medical-Nikkor 120mm f/4;
    Teleconverters (with the exception of the TC16 or TC16A).

    I was wondering.. what do they actually mean? or rather... can I still get them in stores locally?

    hope someone who heard or has hands on experience with the same model range as mine could enlighten me.

    Thanks for your time.
