    I calibrated this morning with pantone huey and set my base temp to 5400, I may slightly yellowish at first. But after 30 mins usage it looks better. 6400 gives me bit weird colors. 5400 would do good. pantone huey doesn't give that accurate colors, but works good for me.

    the calibration unit works like a preset WB like the ones in your camera, it makes what is suppose to be white to be white. e.g taking prest wb on a white wb card.

    Beside 60, no other choice is visible
    60hertz is good enuff for LCD. Your eyes cannot perceive the difference between 60 hertz and 100 hertz. However, for CRT monitors, your eyes get tired if the refresh is too slow... but this is not a problem with LCD.

    For LCD, the recommended refresh is 60 hertz.
