Why you should profile your printers?
- To obtain consistent colours in printouts when you use different mediums.
- To ensure your printed image is as accurate as it you see it on your screen.

How often should you profile your printers?
You should profile your printers everytime you change a brand of ink or print papers.
(eg: glossy paper, matte paper, canvas, etc..)


How does it works?
- You download a target image in TIFF format and print it with your printer and the medium (paper) you want to profile. Instructions for how to print will be given.
- Mail the profile back to the given address.
- The printer profile for that paper will be emailed back to you as soon as it's done!

Because there is no need to go onsite to do the profiling, cost savings is passed back to you!


Rates:
1-2 $100/profile
3-4 $80/profile
5-8 $60/profile
>10 $50/profile*

*Each profile is specific for that paper, printer and ink.

Introductory price is $80/profile for up to 4 profiles! rates for 5 onwards will be as per normal

Available sizes are A3, A4 and 4R. Customised sizes are also available on request.

Compatibility:
- Works for almost any printers from deskjets to plotters. (basically if you can print it, it can be profiled)
- Works for both Mac and Windows that can open and print .TIFF files.
- 3rd party inks/ CIS

Please note that the target image contains >1700 patches and will require
more than 1 sheet of print for each profile.

Just to answer some queries:

Do I need to reprofile everytime my ink runs out?
- The same profile for the same paper and ink cartridges combo can be reused because the colours from original manufacturer is very consistent. Therefore, the profile can be reused even after changing cartridges. You only need to re-profile when you change the type/brand of paper or to another brand of ink.

Any discounts for future profiling?
- Charges are cumulative. Meaning the more you profile the more you save. If you do 4 profiles now you'll pay $80/profile. Later on if you send in another 2 for profiling you'll pay for the rates of (5-8) $60/profile and so on. You can try creating a few profiles first to see the difference, discounts will be given accordingly for additional profiles in future.

How is the profile created?
- a professional spectrophotometer and profiling software that support over 1700 patches is used to build high-quality ICC profiles with best possible accuracy and precision. It is also done by someone with knowledge and know-how in the industry. He has done profiling for printers doing commercial prints.

How many pieces of paper is need for each profile?
- 4R profile will be done with 300+ patches on two 4R or 700+ patches on four 4R. The same 1700 patches can be generated upon request but will require around 10 pieces of 4R.
- 729 patches on one A4 or 1728 patches on two A4

Can I print on both sides to save paper?
- No, the target is to be printed only on 1 side of the medium (the manufacturer's stated 'print side'). Applies to double sided mediums/paper as well, print only on 1 side. This will ensure best accuracy in the profile generated.

What about postage and targets?
- postage will be borne by sender and targets will not be return unless accompanied with a self addressed envelope and stamp.

More queries to answer:
Will profiling void the warranty of the printer?
- No, the printer is left untouched. You only need to apply the ICC profile to your computer and nothing is being downloaded into the printer. The firmware of the printer is left untouched and no alteration to the hardware of your printer is being done.

Can the profile be reused?
- Yes, it can be applied to all the computers connected to the same printer. However, you have to make sure that all the monitors of the computers are properly profiled as well to get proper screen to print match. There are a few CSers offering monitor profiling.
