Don't know about the Dynax 7.
However, on the Dynax 5, with "eye start" on, autofocus and exposure begins working the moment the camera viewfinder is brought to the eye without having to half-press the shutter release button.

There is not "Eye control" but "eye start", basically what it start focussing when you put your hand on the grip and the camera close to your eye (not just eye, even closer to the body).

I turn it off most of the time, I find it annoying...

Don't need it..

Which camera is the best is a personal choice... regardless of the brand..

for me.. its about $$$ cheap yet deliver great performance, then its a great camera.

7D is just nice for me.. but of course, its not perfect.

agetan is right. It is a personal choice. Choosing a camera is also about how you feel about the camera and how it suits you. Even if you buy a very good and expensive and powerful camera, if your imaginations and techniques are not there, then the camera is as useless no matter how good it is.
