Default Small tripod

I saw some small cute tripod yesterday. Is it worth getting a small light tripod to carry around just in case i need it? I dont have a tripod now cos i dont like to lug around extra weight.

y risk ur gear like tis? get studier 1s instead.

if u r willing 2 spend abt $2K on cam + lense den its worth investing in a gd tripod. IMO, a gd tripod may outlast ur 350D!

i once had a flimsy tripod, almost going to mount my prosumer KM Z3. Then jus as i as screwing in the plate, POW! one of the leg gave way and the whole tripod topple over.

cant imagine if i actually had mounted my Z3 on it, or even my D70s!

from that incident i learn that its not worth buying a lousy tripod.

I think rather i want to get a good one, as it can last long and last me through years.

weight of d tripod? most ultra tiny 1s cant hold a prosumer adequately. but Giottos & Manfrotto do hav tabletop 1s. i hav 1 such tripod from Manfrotto, but i got a more robust ballhead 2 hold my cam firmly if shooting vertically.

both r above $70 each, & i spent somemore on d replacement ballhead...

I'm using an Ultrapod II. Holds my D70 with kit lens pretty well. It's pretty cheap too. Check out the website.

Slik mini is my choice. Price $70 at MS colour few months ago.

It is weight under 1kg, sturdy build, height about 40-45cm (fold), total height about 1.25m.
Just nice for traveling and take your own photo.

Regards,
Arto.

I got mine in the US. But it seems that the local distributer for their products is CP. Maybe you can go check out CP.

i use ultrapod before,...not strong enough and its made from hard plastic i think
now i use this one bellow, easy to carry and you can replace the head. its metal build, for this setup it can load up to 6Kg.

The tripod it self cost you around SGD$85 at CP, its a one set with extender and head, someone here mention the price only USD$16, well, maybe he forgot to add shipping cost and i don't think its a one set. only the leg.

Invest in good tripod. You will only need to buy it once. The tripods that come with your camera as frebies are crap.
