Default Ricoh Caplio R4 good or not?

Just checking if Ricoh Caplio R4 is available in Singapore?

I also saw the review for it at this location.

Yes, it looks like a real handy camera for most occasions.
Just worried about the image quality of Ricoh cameras as it is not a very publicized camera like Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc.

I was just there. The Ricoh R3 is selling less than $600. R4 stock has yet to arrive.
Guess Ricoh is not a very popular camera.

It doesn't have an optical VF so you have to rely on the LCD screen (which isn't great compared to the competition).

But it does go down to 1cm for Macro which is handy.

AP at SLS is selling it for $570.

And oh, one more thing. No manual override - so no aperture or shutter settings - full auto.

Looks like a good camera to keep so long as you don't mind the video.

But then.... I just bought the Canon 350D...

I bought Ricoh R30 @ 540 in the beginning of May..Without any freebies. My mind wasnt firm and i fell under the usual salesman tactic

Thanks for the update. That probably explains the price drop.
