Hi All,
Pardon me if this sounds silly. Does the Canon 70-200mm f2.8L come in black? I had seen so far in pictures that it's only in off white. Thanks! Paranoid |

Thanks Jdredd,
Was thinking if its black, it would match most Canon's black bodies. Well at least if the glass is of excellent quantity, colour then is secondary I guess. Paranoid |

Its predecessor, the Canon EF 80-200mm f2.8L, came in black. However, its been discontinued already, and only available 2nd hand. Fairly rare though.

can specially order in black (sports pro photogs do have that)
quoting http://www.usa.canon.com/html/eflens...y/lseries.html Many EF telephoto lenses are white, to reduce the amount of internal heat build-up during long shooting in bright sunlight. And the new Image Stabilized super-telephoto L-series lenses add extensive dust-and moisture-resistant seals and gaskets, enabling pros to keep shooting in the worst conditions. |

Black or white L lens, I think their performance is about the same. Just that the white lens attracts more attention. If you like the attention, go for the white version.
I sometimes do hate the attention! ![]() |
