Default Lenses for Dynax 5000i?

Hi all,

I just gotten an old Dynax 5000i from a colleague, and I am eager to try it out.

Just wonder if there is any kind soul out there to enlighten me what sort of lenses are available for this entry level film SLR?

most of the AF lenses can work...ssm cannot AF, MF lenses cant fit the mount. I think..i only got a 8000i body, should be the same group.

I see. Thanks a lot for your help.

What about those newer dSLR lenses? Will they cause any vignetting if I were to use a lens that is design for dSLR on a film body?

yes, DT/for digital only lens will most likely to cause vignetting at the widest side, depends on the lens.

So the KM 28-75 f/2,8 lens cannot be used on a film body

KM 28-75mm f/2.8 is not a DT lens, so it can use on Minolta 'A' mount camera without problem.

KM 18-70mm, 11-18mm, 18-200mm are DT lens, which are meant for APS-C (1.6x crop factor) size sensor digital camera, so may have problem on film camera.

What about 3rd party lens like Sigma,Tamron and Tokina? Do they have the Minolta mount lens that I can look for?

Yes, they do, I personally own:
Tokina 17mm
Sigma 10-20mm
Sigma 18-200mm,
Most of their line up are avalable for Minolta's A mount (Sony future "alpha" mount), except a few lens like
Tokina 12-24mm
