3x TC will degrade your lens quality significantly.

3xTC? Wow! Didn't know it exist!
![]() At 2x, which I'm using on my 70-200 f2.8L IS, the image quality is already not no desirable .... can't imagine putting on a 3xTC. No matter how good the lens (L Primes, IS, etc) you are using, the image quality will definitely suffer. |

Its the extent of the drop in image quality that makes the difference. Even the sharpest lens on a 1.4xTC will also have reduced image quality. |

Do take note that your lens might not focus as fast with a TC. Its also said that third party TCs will give you faster AF compared to Canon's.(rumors) |
