Hi Teerex,

All these pictures all done via hand-held and shooting blind ??
Wah.. Gitzo will go out of biz with those hands of yours! You do 1000 pushups
every day? and How do you gauge what you are shooting???

Fantastic!!!

Cool!! Can teach??

Hi Teerex,

Nice pictures.
My favourite pick is #2, #3, #7 and #8.

Just share some thoughts if you don't mind, for #6, the tall palm trees and busy background at Boat Quay sort of mask out the main subject which is the Raffles statue. Maybe you can try to crop to portrait size leaving only the Raffles statues and the palm tree on the right. Just a thought here. Cheerz.

Not all the shots are hand held. #1 and #5 are hand held, the rest were shot with tripod.
I used to shoot hand held only, but have recently started to use a tripod occassionally. Just in case I want to do color blending shots.

That is, shoot 2 identical shots, one in color and the other in IR. Then blend them together.
Sample of a blending shot. Photoexpress is the master at this

Some of my older hand hald shots are HERE, if you're interested to view.

I do not shoot blind, whether hand held or using a tripod.

For hand held, I will frame first then hold filter over the lens to shoot.
For tripod shots, I will frame, lock ball head, screw filter onto lens and shoot.

To shoot hand held, Breathing control, tight arms against the body and no open armpit. Can liao.

Can get one lah! Experiment with your CWB, Channel Swap and H/S adjustments.

Try.

Thanks for your suggestion on #6. Wanted to crop that to portrait, but did not 'cos the top of the palm tree is out of frame . Don't think the portrait crop will work without the top of the palm tree.

That's why I shot #7 in portrait format from a different angle.

Hi Teerex,

No issue. #7 is very nice.
Anyway, we are all here to share and learn from one another.

Maybe I will try to do a Cityscape in IR to "catch-up" on this outing that I miss.

Regards
Francis
