this might seem like a dumb question but, is Mount Huangshan some kind of shaolin area? or is the place where the water margin story took place..

These were taken with Zukio Digital 7-14mm, 11-22mm, and 40-150mm lenses. Almost all were taken at f-stop of f/9.0.

The mountain referred to in Water Margin is actually Mount Liangshan which is located in southern Shandong Province.

As for sunrise pix, the forecast for good sunrise was only 20%, so we decided not to wake up at 3.00am and hike for half an hour for nothing at those odds. In any case, most of us were too tired after the long hike and climb to the top of Bright Summit Peak and probably could not have gotten up even if we had wanted to. Also, we needed to reserve our energy anyway for the half an hour hike/climb to the cable car station early that morning for departure from Huangshan. ![]()
