Hi everyone,
I am pretty new to DSLR photography and am keen to buy a new lense. I am currently using D350 I am searching and am confuse of what is better. Sigma or Canon. Someone offered my a Canon 70 - 200mm f2.8 but 10yrs old. I check with Canon and they told me all equipments have life span and that if they were me, they will not buy it. That really send me into a total ?????? Should i buy a new Sigma DG lense at S$1400 Or a 10yrs old Canon at S$1600 Please give me your best and honest advise. Thanks |

If you dont really need the speed of a 2.8 I'd suggest going for a new 70-200 f/4 for $1200

Get a new 70-200mmf2.8L.
If you are sure that you dont need IS, this will be your final purchase for this range. |

IMO,all above mention lenses are fantastic lenses.
Apart from the price, ask yourself this questions: *Is the extra stop important to you (in the case of Sigma vs Canon 70-200 f/4L)? *Are you concern with the weight of the lens? (Sigma is 1270gm, Canon 70-200f/4L is 705gm and Canon 70-200f/2.8L is 1310gm) *Are you concern with resale value (if you are one who like to buy and sell) Maybe this will help in someway to decide on your choice. |
