Does prints need to store in dry cabinet for prolonged lifespan and moisture damage (if there's any)?
Any recommendations to store the prints? Last edited by West_ray; 28th April 2006 at 10:42 PM. |

i just store mine in those clear files... don't really think would need much protection from humidity or moisture unless you want to keep them in pristine condition for possible selling.. but it would be a good idea to keep them in a dry cabinet to be safe..

yes, i require a lot of hardwork and continuous money to spend to maintain them.
If you want to store negs, prints and slides properly, for the former 2, you need to put them in polypropylene sheets that will is chemically inert and won't stick to your prints and negs. You organise them in files and keep an index. All photo album books will not help. Slides you either put them into slides sleeves or if you project a lot, projection trays in a box. All of these goes into a electronic dry cabi with humidity at 40-50% for long period of storage. I've yet to see good polypropylene sheets in SG that are worth buying. I buy them in Australia in bulk. If you are interested, I'm willing to sell you some to start off your collection. Got to their websites at http://www.albox.com.au/ |

I don't do stock photography but rather takes assignments such as ceremonial events like churches sermons, convocation, annual publications, weddings, D&D and occasional outdoor events.
