By the implication of your word 'should' in the context of reaction to DP's insult to erica, you mean to think there is a morally or socially accepted norm for a bystander's reaction to an insult to a stranger. scenario: you witness two people shouting at each other, one hurls abuse and the other takes it do you immediately jump to the stand of the quiet one? How would u know if its not the quiet one who is guilty and thus keeping his silence as a show of guilt? I have stated my stand which if you wld read carefully instead of turning it into a shouting match you will see I am trying to mediate the tension which apparently got out of hand and got the thread closed on an unhappy note. to summarise again for your benefit. I acknowledge that DP was abit harsh with his words but that's the freedom of speech accorded to him. and in return i offered my viewpoint of why I think that he should not dismiss erica's works so quickly even though he dun see any value in it. Be consistent and logical in applying your comments. slaam: pls point out then where was I neither of these two? And if you could, kindly reply to the comments I directed to point by point.
