    Default Need help in AutoCAD!!

    Dear CS'sers,

I've made a mask (for photolithography) using Photoshop. Just realised the new mask maker do not take jpg/tiff etc files and only autocad files. LL I went to search for autocad and installed it, its not friendly at all! can't see the grids/rules/ the u usual 'pixels/cm' etc makes it v foreign to me. Online tutorials are slow and painful.

Any autocad pros out there can help me?!

    Many thanks in advance
    Jon

AFAIK u can convert autocad file (DWG) to JPG but not the other way round.

u can embed a bitmap image in an autocad DWG though, not sure if that would work for u.

Yeah. i searched high and for jpg --> DWG..in the end got some crap stuff...as they use rendering algorithms to do it.

Not sure if bitmap embedded in DWG is ok or not, just have to assume so for now while I send them an email.

For those who'd like to try,

First of all, Autocad is not an image processing software, its a drafting programme. So don't expect it to work like Photoshop. You are able to import a jpeg image into Autocad as a rastor image and save it as a dwg file though.

Give me detailed dimension as well. I'll draw it out in AutoCAD.

    http://s33.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1...M28GKRBPNOKAE1 are the files,

dimensions...for one of the files, its pretty many tiny dimensions, I also dunno how to say, best is to view in PS, lay out the rulers (ctrl-R), that was how I drew the stuff.

I shall d/l adobe illustrator and try.

    Thanks all!!
