The Singapore $ is at a all time high now, exchange is now US$1=S$1.6, just wondering would the "imported" goods example cameras and lens be cheaper soon?

hmm... Let's do some maths here...

    Take Canon 70-200 F4 from amazon.com
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...lance&n=502394

    Is is selling at US$589.95

If the current exchange rate is 1.59, then it will cost about SGD938 + GST = SGD985
    Maybe shipping (roughly) USD35 ~ SGD55

Then total price is SGD1040. I think it is cheaper by SGD200...

Yen also dropped leh, I think the Japanese is smarter this time, not to let the Yen become too expensive and so more ppl will buy Japanese products.

the price of a 70-400 f/4 brand new is about $545

amazon in general is more expensive for camera stuff.

i find that with the large 2nd hand market + common canon rebates for new stuff, the U.S is still the cheapest place to get camera stuff.
