hi, looking to get a bigger dry cabinet (90L to 100L). any recommendation and experience to share comparing Akarui and Digicab?
heard from someone that Digicab has some water retention in the cabinet ?!! (somehwere behind the switch board inside the cabinet you can feel some water droplets...dunno how true is this claim?). This claim is only heardsay, please don't quote me. Anyway, do share your comments and experience especially those using Akarui cabinet. thanks

I've been using AKARUI for the past few years. No problems at all. Dead silent.

Changing today my Digi-Cabi 100L into a 103L from AKARUI. Price is around the same but Akarui is much better quality. It feels better. Better foam in the drawers, drawers can be placed in the full height of the cabinet, door have not to be opened 180 degrees to use the drawers. For me no Digi-Cabi anymore...

Go with the Akarui as it has an auspicious sounding name, Angkat(Malay- carry) Lui(Chinese - money) Angkat lui.
The drybox really angkat lui as all your camera and accessories are in the dry box and cost a bomb. Last edited by xtemujin; 5th August 2006 at 12:38 PM. |

I make him very clear that he has to deliver the next day else I want my money immediately back and my taxibills... Don't want to be all day at home, waiting for a cabinet which they will deliver mayby or next week. Last time in my life that I will be in that shop!!! Didn't like them all, they using always different prices for there clients. The guy was showing me a cleaning set for my sensor of $450!!! But I got special discount for $270.... yeh right, put that then directly on it the pricetag... they can better move to Sim Lim, same kind of crap stores. Later I found out that also John 3:16 at Funan can deliver the Akarui dry-cabinets. Sadly I ordered already from Cathay-M else I would defently ordered one from John 3:16, have much better experiences with them. Have now the Akarui running and it works very well. After the door has been opened, within a hour, the humid is back on 40%. Digi-Cabinet is much slower, I compare only for both the 100L versions. The smaller versions of Digi-Cabinet are faster... they have the same engine as the big ones, more power in a smaller space... Thinking to buy a second dry-cabinet of Akarui... but not from Cathay anymore... Akarui Cathay |

hmm just curious, anyone using the digicab HD-100? What are your settings for the dial. Mine takes eternity to go down to 40% humidity and i wondered if the gauge is accurate or not....
