Are these the new lenses designed for G3? Only know that they are much cheaper than the Sony tele and wide.
Anyone used them b4? I am interested to know as well.

Hi Stevick,

You asked in the right forum

I tried the Canon TC before buying the Sony. It appears to have quite obvious CA at full zoom, and not as sharp as the sony .. Think there are a few available at AP for 195.

Not tried the Wide angle...

if they're the lenses meant for G3, they can't work. The G3 lens comes with a bayonet-style attachment while 717 needs a lens with a screw thread.

Lenses for the G2 are 0.8x (>$200) and 1.5x (~$140) and these would work. I don't know about the quality though but they work fine on the G2.

I'm not too sure what the $190 lens tested are. These might be overpriced by AP or the 2.4x one (whose quality isn't high) meant for the A40.

Lets say its not something you would want to spend close to 200 bucks on

You can go to AP and try in on...

The Canon 58mm 1.5x teleconverter for the G2 should cost only ~$140.

Think Stevick's asking about the 1.75x version, which is more expensive.

I don't think so. Only the lens adapter is bayonet style.
