Default DIY Bounce Card for Camera Flash

Hi all, I would like to share this smal DIY project of mine.
Total Cost - <$2.
Time taken - 5 mins
Someone would probably have done this before but wat the heck...

The bounce card is made from a tabe mat I found at Ikea. 1 side is white(did a custom WB check , and the result is fairly accurate, better than my 300D AWB). This is better than paper or cardboard as the material is fair hard(but can easily be cut using a pair of normal scissors). Waterproof and likely standup to the most rugged of uses.

I tried to DIY a diffuser for the built-in flash using a plastic container and some tracing paper. Tracing paper is pasted along the sides of the container to help 'diffuse' the light more. I found that a double layer wokred pertty well for me.

Tested on a 300D it softens the output a little but not by much. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...shdiffuser.jpg

Hmm.. I thought the white card should be bigger in size to be effective? I was looking at yours and compared with the Jusbounce card, to which yours is very much smaller.

I did try to make a giant one, about 4 times the size, but it did not really make much of a difference in the photos I took, so I decide to stick to this one. I find this size just right for easy storage. Just turn it around when not in use, help to protect the LCD screen at the back of the flash while it is in my camera bag.

The 20x30cm table mat from ikea cost only $1. Upgrade to a bigger size if you want to use it as a fan also.
