Hi, I'm new round 'ere!
I just bought a Rolleiflex 6002 6x6 medium format camera, with a Planar 80mm f/2.8 HFT lens. Has anyone used this setup before? I am completely new to medium format photography so I'm also looking for any general tips for someone who's been mainly shooting with DSLRs over the last year. Could anyone recommend a good 120 film scanner, that I could buy from ebay, preferably on the cheap? Or offer any alternative suggestions for getting photos onto my PC? Thanks. you may need a light meter to go with it. check the 'health' status of the battery too.

if you are a newbie and have this to start with, you are already very lucky! I started with a Bronica ETRSi.
My only advice... buy only what you need... rolleiflex has poor resale value. But its a good camera/system. |

Well I've already put some film into it (Velvia 100F) and have started snapping. The meter seems to work fine. I bought the camera for £180 (GBP), I'm not sure how that translates but it seemed a very good deal.
I have also bought a scanner, an Epson 4990. It arrived today and I haven't had a chance to test it out yet. |

It is a preformer, got a lot of good pictures from it. The batteries are course for concents, otherwise they are build to last. |

the 4990 is reputed to be a good scanner.. been thinking of upgrading to it as well... but scanning is a tedious process I tell you...
also good start to MF! I started with a yashicamat, in fact I'm still shooting with it!! |

I have the 4990's elder brother... the 4870, and I have to say it is pretty darn good once you tweak the settings and all... For me I mainly shoot with my Mamiya RZ67 and to scan a 6x7 slide would take roughly about 5-15 mins, depending on the resolution of the picture you want.
All the best with your move into MF photography! Cheers, Nick

Thanks for the replies.
Tuck Loong, luckily I received the original manual with the camera but thank you for the offer. ![]() I sent off my first roll of film to be processed this afternoon, and I therefore should have my first shots on the web within a week. I've been thinking about getting a cheap Moskva camera too, because I'm really enjoying medium-format... and would like to try out a few other MF cameras. |

I received my film back today and the photos are just amazing. The quality and colours are nothing short of incredible... I have scanned and uploaded a few here, along with 100% crops @ 2400dpi -
