    Hi all, I am pretty new to DSLR and hope to learn through your critiques on some pictures taken with my 2 new lens acquired last night. Got an attachment this afternoon and tried for the first time, macro. Hope you could pen ur impressions and critique areas that I could improve on. Thanks in advance ... truly.

    Macro Flowers


    ( Just read rules that only one pic per week, pai sei, deleted the rest lioas )

    The contrast between the main subject and the flowers is good and the black ground is blurred enough to complement it. It does seem that the flowers are a little burry. I'm assuming you were shooting handheld?

    good
    background blur enough,
    background and flower color also good contrast.

    not good
    flower blur,
    not 1 flower is "complete" or "full".
    photography makes one sees things from all angles.

    love the colours although maybe you cld bring a tripod next time to stabilise your cam so you get sharper pics.

    That's very good critique and feedback, I could learn from your perspective. Appreciate your time and comments. I think I shld really save to get myself a tripod. Cheers mate

    Samantha, think I am geeting old, my pics aint sharp, maybe I really need a tripod, must save for it liaos. Thanks for your observation and suggestion

    sometime not due to not using tripod.
    use of macro slider helps.
    wind blows, flower moves. just improvise some thing to hold it still lor.
    photography makes one sees things from all angles.

    Actually its a add-on lens to my 50 mm prime, yreah it aint sharp enuff, I need to practice more. Thanks for your sharing

    DennisKee, indeed, you have just highlighted the other possibilities that I didnt thihnk off, I think its baout control and I have to learn and your sharing help lots ! Many thanks

    You might want to control your breathing if you don't have a tripod handy. Avoid squatting while trying to shoot macro, the blood pumping through your veins will cause slight your to bounce slightly with each heartbeat.

    Nice bokeh though
