Default Synchronising for wireless Flash

Hi Fellow CSers,
Seeking advice on how to synchronise for wireless flash usage
Situation: I tried to use the Commander mode of my D70s to activate
(1)SB600 alone - works
(2) Sigma EF-500 DG Super alone- works
(3) SB600 and Sigma flashes together - only Sigma works

Can some experienced and knowledgeable members explain to me why and also kindly advise how to get both flashes to work simultaneously?
Rgds

Make sure your SB-600 is set to channel 3 group A for CLS.

Set my SB600 at Ch3 and A group , alone on its own.. works.
But together with Sigma, only the Sigma works.
Still puzzled.. wondering why.

There's a sensor on the SB-600, is it blocked?

No Sir... no blocjage,
Can it be that the commander signal from D70s is not powerful enough for both flashes to work at the same time?
Sigma sensor being more sensitive works but not for the case of SB600??

Nope that cannot be. I've already tested a D70 with 2 SB-800s at about 2m away from the shooter.

Try triggering again and look at the SB-600 to see if it triggered, were you looking thru the VF?

The reason is simple.

I suspect that you didn't enable Channels B and C on your SB-800. Channel A is on as a default setting, but you have to manually turn on Channels B and C.

if using the D70s built in flash as the commander, only channel 3 group A works.

Then there is no function for groups B and C on the D70s?

Asking for information only.

bcoz it was built that way.
if u want those features on the D70s u either need an SB800 or SU800.

or if u r willing to upgrade to a D200 body, u can use the other channels & groups.

i believe it is limited on the D70s due to product segmentation.
marketing purposes?
maybe.
