A Walk In The Park

I took a walk in the park today with my camera and took this little series of "walk in the park" pictures to share...

No idea what is happening on this plant but a row of dead worker ants is spooky...

Hmm, what's the scale of those things? They look very much like aphids (especially since I see both winged and wingless forms of the same insect, plus those two 'tails' - called siphunculi - projecting from their rear ends). There's a wonderful illustration of a typical aphid here.

The one in the top left corner is a moult.

Hey thanks for ID-ing the insects. I have no idea what I was shooting. But it was fun finding these little ones. Too bad the lighting was not ideal for deep DOF because I already had trouble getting my hands from shaking...
