    Cannot choose more than 1...

I find having a 'large & bright viewfinder' important.

Then 'Good Ergonomics, Handling & Control' is important too.

Then i like a 'Large and bright LCD' too. Finally 'High Frame-Per-Second (FPS)' is also good, but of course on this i dun have much of a choice, if i only can afford an entry level dSLR, i cannot list this as a priority looking at 1 tat can do 8.5 fps...
From Pentax to 4/3, back to Pentax and then back to M4/3 !?!?

It's a Multiple Choice Poll. You should be able to choose more than 1. I picked 3 selections.

    - It must be (look) big. Make ppl think u are really a "pro".

    - No silvery surfaces. See point above.

    - It must have a LOUD mirror slap/shutter sound and/or sound like a GPMG at full blast

    - It must be able to dent any surface it hits on

I think one important aspect of the selection is the lenses.
I have a considerable investment in Nikkor lenses, and this becomes prohibitive of me leaving the Nikon community to switch to another brand like Canon (of course I could go to Fuji, but it wasnt really an option for me).

And what about what we don't want in a dSLR? Like higher Mp count which results in high ISO noise? For me, 6Mp is more than enough for amateur use.
I love big car, big house, big lenses, but small apertures.

    What about Dynamic Range?

I would consider it as a very important factor influencing a buyer's choice.

In addition to those I voted, responsive and accurate AF, low shutter lag, long battery life, low mirror vibration and F-mount.
