I've several thousands of TIF files which I would like to convert to JPG.
I've explored around in CS2 but don't seem to be able to figure it out..... So does CS2 has a function that allow me to batch process the conversion? |

You can record your own action set to do a save as.
1.Open a file 2. press record (in the actions tab) 3. Save as a jpg with the quality you want ( you can also use the save to web function here... ) 4. Close file 5. Press stop Then go to the CS2 fle borwser and select all the tiffs you want to convert. Then go to automate--> batch.. Select the action you just created and for safety reassons check thr overide save as commands and define a folder you want to save it to if not it will just save it in the last used folder. (i beleive) |

Other alternative you may want to download FastStone Image Viewer.
http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm Small program but powerful. |

Other than batch actions you can use image processor to save up to 3 versions of selected images...jpg, tif or psd.
I prefer it over batch actions if all i need is to convert from one format to another without applying resizing, sharpening etc. since I don't have to manually record the action. If you have a large amt of images to work on I suggest you read this book, Camera Raw with Adobe photoshop cs2 by Bruce Fraser. It cover various strategies for managing and processing large volumes of digital raw images using Bridge and camera raw. |
