I am not rich and thus always look forward to 2nd hand stuff. However, the feeling of getting new is always better. Sometimes it is worth saving a bit more and get new.

My D100 is 2nd hand.
My MB-D100 is 2nd hand. My 18-70 DX is 2nd hand. My SB-80DX is 2nd hand. My 3xEN-EL3 is 2nd hand. All bought from clubsnap b&s. 2nd hand is OK! In future, I intend to upgrade to 2nd hand D200, VG, 18-200 VRII and SB-800. ![]() |

anyway. in my opinion, buying 2nd hand is ok. as long as the price justifies the item that i am buying, its fine.
but nikkor lenses usually is ok for 2nd hand.... lenses is always ok for 2nd hand especially for those who dun mind the cosmestics and is more concerned about the optics performance otherwise. i encourage 2nd hands on lenses flashes and sometimes camera bodies, it depends alot on the camera also...

good condition 2nd hand lenses and DSLRs are the way to go!
flash should get brand new. endorsed by KRW as he uses used lenses and bodies but never flashes. ![]()

IMO,
nothing wrong with gettin second hand stuff, esp if they are in good condition for your usage. Bhy would you need to pay so much more for a brand new set, when the second hand set which is on sales is lightly used and going for a steal? |

Roughly half my of my equipment are second hand, half new. Don't see any problems with buying secondhand stuff, especially if you are budget conscious. Nikon equipment are built to last anyway.... my dad's FM2 is about the same age as me and working as well as my D70.

Long Time ago, I got my Nikon FM2, FE2, FG, FA, F3HP second hand, and sold all of them.
(In singapore) Now I get all my Digital Nikon gears new mostly from online B&H (US). It hard to buy somethings used without seeing or checking it. |
