btw i think the 6600 is not a good choice as per the website,

its causes vignetting at full wide, wouldnt that be defeating the purpose?

the raynox 0.5x quality doesn't look good, and got distortion on edge. so far i heard in taiwan site there is an adapter purposely for fuji cam and if used with 6600 u won't get vignetting. i am actually asking for that and still waiting for reply...

yup... in fact for 0.5x i will rather go for FE1800 Pro, the fish eyes lens.

I have a Sony 0.7x wide angle meant for the F707. Some vignetting at the corners but when I cropped to 3:2 ratio, these are cut out.

KC, I remember you had the Fuji Wide-con before. How did it perform and why did you sell it?

itchy hands I suppose. wanted to try a wider angle (the Sony performs ~0.67x)..... but ended up never bringing the Sony lens out

The Sony is 0.67x but vignettes at full wide, while the Fuji one is 0.79x with no vignetting? Hmmm....what about CA or lens distortions? Any significant differences or rather how did the Fuji one perform in this regard?

Lens distortion is quite minmal. I think the results are fairly similar compared to the Fuji one. Need to check my test results though, which were quite a long time back.
