Question nikon digicam software

how do i retain the setting information of the shots i took after reformatting the cf card??
cos after i reformat i have to go to the folder b4 i can see the shots i took last time... but cannot find the settings of the photos too...

you mean your computer/hd folder?
if yes, have you install exifer for windows?

nikon view nor cumulus don't keep exif information in JPEG files created by digital cameras. you will need to install exif image viewer or exif infotip.

err.. what do you mean?
i only installed exif infotip. all i have to do is just hover my mouse cursor above JPG photo to bring up info tip.

If i'm not wrong, they are part of the Jpeg file. They are stored within the jpeg file. No sperate files are created to store the info. And please note that opening these jpeg files in an editing software and then resaving may cause lost of the exif info.

true. but the above s/w allows you to save and restore exif settings, so as long as you've got one file with exif you should be good to go.
