    Default Tripod + Car

We went to the carpark nearby in uni last night to kill some time. The intense amber sodium lighting created lots of colour channel problems when the images were white balanced to something a little less orange.

    I used a Manfrotto 055 tripod, a 10D, D30, and a 17-40mm to do these shots.

P.S: Its not me in the white car.

Interesting results. Do you have a picture of the actual setup, or was someone simply sitting on the back seat holding the tripod out the window?

tried this once a long time ago...

i was using a sony cybershot back then.
i used a DIY clamp to attach the camera to my driver's door handle.

used longer exposure and hoped the road is not bumpy

    by the way, Hi r32..

    i love skylines!!!
take some pics of ur r32 sometimes!

i used to live in St.Lucia too..
    in Manors along Macquarie street.

which carpark did u take these shots?
    indroopily carpark?
u shld try Garden's City carpark, top floor.. it's open-air deck, with some white pillar lights.
i used to take photos there..
natural light in the day, white light at night, at least wouldn't affect the car's color so much.

hehe. fun shots but aggravating to execute =)

watch those hand positions in all the shots... it's a nitpick but it's obvious that these guys arent 'professional drivers'. =) The hands should preferably be at at the 3 & 9 oclock of the steering wheel (not 3 & 9 oclock at all times) even tho full lock is applied... this will convey a greater sense of 'turning' in the pics. Rally drivers & Takumi will show that 'fixed input' technique =)

    was pic 2 underexposed?

as for the trippy light trails, guess it's personal preference if U want them straight (keep full lock at all times) or wavy trippy...

dont U wish there were some neon signs conviniently around? =)
