Powershot S3 IS

Hi! I am new here and this is my 1st post!!

I just want to know if anybody has news on the new S3 IS? I understand that it will be launched officially in May, but will it be in Singapore in May too?? Any1 has news?

heyz.. welcome. yeahz.. i agree wif felixcat8888. nt heard of much news for e S3 IS yet.. juz speculations of when it arrives and e specification of e camera only.

yeahz.. e time between S1 and S2 was a couple of years. tis S2 to S3 is a matter of months only.. but well, frm S1 to S2, it can be considered a distinctive jump. e features were improved rather drastically.. but from S2 to S3, it's hardly even considered an upgrade. it's only a mega-pixel more, black in color and higher ISO.. definitely nt worth jumpin frm S2 to S3. e S3 is juz to lure ppl who are non-S2ers to get it..

Does Canon SG honour Canon cam bought overseas with warranty from other countries? And can I buy the extended warranty for those cam??

Hey guys!!! I have just went to the Canon SG website and saw that they had a press release on 29/03/06 announcing that S3 IS will be launched in May in SG too!!!

Just checked with MS Colour - they have price list from Canon already ($769) and the stock may arrive by weekend.

Wow... it's out? Gee... I was planning to go buy a FZ7 already this evening... now I have another option. Anyone knows if there's any reviews on the S3IS? How do they compare?

Btw, price quoted by MS color... any free gifts? GST?

Price by MS Color is $760 with a free 512MB SD card from Canon. That is all

Was speaking to Ken from MS as I was reading this & he told me that the S3 is now there. Strange coincidence

s2 and the new s3 is a very good camera.only bad thing is that it does not have hot shoe which u can add a addition flash which is very useful for the night time or fillin.
good thing is that it had the is and more zoom range.
But for me,i would chose the G5 or even the G6,just what i need for more powderful flash.......

S3 IS is here and already available at MS Color. The quotation sounds good for a camera of this calibre.

hmm how come price can differ so much the canon promo site put $849 with 512mb SD card. then MS color selling at $760 for the same deal wor... weird. is there anything different between the 2 deals?

the prices quoted by canon are RRP or recommended retail price. usually, the shop seller get much lower even as low as 80% (even lower) of the RRP, thus, the price is so low.
