If I were to work on your list, I will do this: (with the assumption, that you are in favour of zooms, like me)
Canon 5D Canon 30D 17-40L 24-70L 70-200L IS 100-400L IS 580EX Actually, I don't know about the 100-400. Heard that it is not up to par in terms of quality at 400mm. (heard only, not confirmed - anyone out there will like to clarify on my comment?) |

Value for money DREAM GEARs
Canon 30D x 2 16-35L 24-70L 70-200L non-IS 300L IS f4 550ex x 2 CP-E2 Battery pack ST-E2 FlashTransmitter For the same amount of money, I think this is more practical for most occasions. |

Hi Belle&Sebastain, Which of these lens is higher up on the dream list: 24L or 35L? Any difference in your choice if on a 1.6 or FF camera? Thanks. |

both 24 and 35 i would love to own by september, 24mm more so that i can sell off my wide angle zoom (17-35), if not by march next year, when i get my full frame cameras. i think i be dropping the 1.6 format by end of the year. i miss big viewfinders, really really alot. 24mm will be use for wide angles, weddings esp for people and naturallistic light indoors and tea ceremonies and group shots and table shots 35mm will be used for street photog, weddings indoors in churches, grooms arrival, still life, engaging/exchange of grooms and brides and night indoor work. i think both important but to make a choice i would hope to own the 24mm on a full frame camera first.

Why exclude the 1Ds MK2? Some of the gears posted here far surpass the cost of owning one, in fact several.
Cheers, |
