Have been trying to keep the cost of my B&W shooting low. I was thinking of bulk loading my film. I cant seem to find a bulk loader in Ruby, cathy. Anyone know where can i get it? Usually how much will it cost? Heard there is another place that sell darkroom supplies. They supply to Ruby. Where is it? Maybe they carry it.

1. eBay.
2. eBay prices will give you good guide on how much they cost. 3. Ffordes. They currently have a Konica bulk loader for 5 pounds, even with shipping here, it's cheaper than buying new from Ruby or Seng Cheong.

I have one for sale if you are interested. It's new and I have only used it once. I will sell it for $60 (new is about $100) Konica brand. I've gone from film to digital as I can't get the types of film I'm after anymore.
Otherwise you can buy it from MS Color. PM me if you are interested. |

Sweat100, you could try ebay. The only thing with ebay is that they tend to sell the Watson or Watsons brand more...I don't really know what the difference is. Sorry that my price is not in your budget. But I am not in a hurry to part with it.

5 pounds not cheap? That's less than $15. Get from Ffordes.

I was a big fan of 35mm B&W and I used a bulk loader to load a 30M lenght Film into each individual 35mm film canister. You save alot abt 65% of an individual pack rolls. I'm sure there is still 35mm bulk film available especially for the movie filming industry.
My advise, no regret buying one. I still got mine (LPL made in Japan) Cheers ![]() |

The prices form Adorama and B&H sound great but the shipping costs more than the loader itself (shipping: USD 40, Total 65USD).
We have to get together a MO of 10 before the price drops to USD 34 (per piece with shipping). Probably makes more sense to buy locally or get second hand. Does anyone know how much bulk film costs.. I shoot Tmax 100/400 and will probably need to find out the cost of bulk film compared to rolls (or better still compared to a 10/20 pack of rolls before deciding to bulk roll). Another thing that makes bulk rolling attractive to me is that I can set each casette up with less than 36 shots (would prefer 24, nearer to the actual useful number of photos I do on each outing, towards the end of the roll I am usually wasting film by snapping useless imgaes in my impatience to develop and see the snaps.). |

Cathay at PP says that they dont currently carry bulk rolled B&W, if you want it you need to order in advance.
@Ruby Bulk roll of Tri-X 400 is SGD52. I had thought that the cost of a roll of Tri-X is SGD3.50 (mixed up the 120 and 35 mm prices), then I found out that it is SGD4.50. That tilts the economics in favour of the Bulk roll (marginally, not taking into account the cost of the casettes, if you can find a cheap enough loader that is). anyways, enough of this psycho bable (saying that to myself, just got to go out and shoot, not enough difference to be really worrying how to roll film, rather spend the energy looking for interesting subjects to shoot). |

hehe, buy some reusable canists, then the thing can be used again and again, one time spent only.
