#1. Initially, it was staying at the centre of its web. With brighter BG.
#2. Then it moved upwards after the first flash on it. And this give me a darker BG which has more contrast to its body. Prefer this than the first shot. What you guys think? #3. 3/4 look #4. Side profile. #5. And the close up face shot. Thank you. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice capture ...
Did you went close to the spider? It's called a Giant Wood Spider I'm not sure if this spider is poisonous, it looks scary though By the way, just to share, I have captured this spider in action ... http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...s/e4a45498.jpg |

Nice catch. I spoted one at SBG last sat but it was too high up, about >5M and its against the sun. I took 3 shot but all turn out bad due to distracting light spots from the sun. Its quite a big spider.
Where did you shoot this? |

Thanks Jayson for the ID. Got it at Punggol End but it is not rare I believe. Shot it at Sembawang Park, SBWR, Changi Beach,...etc before. Also no idea if it is poisonous, was quite near to it though.
Also thanks to Switch and Bro jbma. |

I always see that spider at kranji nature trail, pulau ubin and botanic gardens...just that not sure about the name of that spider.
Recently i took one close up of it at kranji nature trail feasting on something and it was a huge spider. Too bad i can't get closer cos i may trigger its web. But overall this spider's very nice....nice shots!!! ![]()

Got some info regarding this giant wood spider which also under the family of golden orb weaver spider. Really unbelievable tt parts of Papua New Guinea tribes people consider it a tasty snack.
Even though the Spider is somewhat poisonous. Here is the sitehttp://www.richard-seaman.com/Insects/Japan/Spiders/GiantWood/ ![]() |
