Using Canon 350D large and fine setting, what size should i crop to in order to print everything on 4r without the 2 white bars at the side? |

You don't need to crop at all. Just change the resolution to 300ppi.
The 350D outputs in the 3:2 ratio. |

I think changing PPI will not affect print out at all.
Changing to higher ppi will only make the picture look bigger on monitor without increase in resolution. Same thing should apply in printing photos- i guess. Anybody have different view? |

if you're sending the photo without any cropping on PS, then you needn't worry about cropping ratio as your pic is already in 3:2, unlike PnS which is in 4:3. About the 300dpi, it's not necessary

evenstar is correct, for 4r, you need not need to crop or reduce pixels for print. just send as it is.

With a 4:3 camera like most point and shoots (e.g. Canon G series, A series, S series), you have to crop to 3:2.
E.g. 2560 x 1920 (4x3) as to be cropped to 2560 x 1707 (3x2)- you lose the top or bottom of your pic. With Canon DSLRs, the 350D, the picture is already 3x2 which fits 4R exactly. |

Hi I am cropping in PS to make the pic looks better. Eg, to remove excess space around the subject.
So make size to crop if I really need to do it? 4 inches (102mm) x 6 inches (152mm)? Thanks |

I think what he's saying is he wants a 100% crop in a 4R size - which is what you'll get from your last post.
