The first pic looks good....looks a bit abstract to me...i think it's the colours...did you do any changes to the contrast??

I did some digital editing for the first pic. Adjusted the saturation and hues as well as play around with the curve to get the contrast and brightness that I like.
For the second pic, I just did some minor adjustment to the saturation and hues. |
