Default Channel Mixer

Could someone help me to do a channel mixer on pic #1.
Please post your edited copy back to this thread.
Any improvement to the final image will be very much appreciated, too.

Thanks.

Pic #1 (before channel mix)

Pic #2 (After channel mixed, my version, standard adjustment)
Am I doing it correctly?

Hi jc1,

I had a very similar viewpoint of the Chinese Garden just a few weeks ago.

Am not sure if I get the IR stuff correctly but nevertheless, the above are what I came up with with minimal pp.

Regards

My attempt :

From original :
- channel mix
- hue/sat (reduce red, increase master hue & sat)
- curves (bring out more of the blue sky)

Hi jc1,

I think the only missing step is:

Layer
New Adjustment Layer
Hue/Saturation
Reduce the Saturation levels for the RED channel (and if it's still not ideal, the Yellow &/or Magenta Channel).

Regards

P.S. Perhaps the other experts could help along with the added Curve.

I think you nailed it.

Don't know if these works for you.

Here're are my attempts with slightly different results.

In #2, saturation for Red/Yellow/Magenta have been reduced to get whites on the trees.
So it's dependant on the type of results you want, further tweeking need be done.

Curves adjusted in both for some contrast.

This part of Chinese Garden offers just about the best viewpoint. So it's not surprising.

Funny. It could be just me but somehow I find that IR works best when the scene takes on a more Oriental (Chinese) or eerie look. Temples, bridges, water, ancient statues, cemetries (with foliage of course), etc. Somehow, I find that modern architecture (or the modern world) does not fit in well.

P.S. From a newbie's point of view.
